What we collect
- Details you send us: your name, email address, organisation, phone number and message when you use the contact form or email us.
- Technical data: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as internet address, browser type and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. These are kept for a short period.
- Your cookie choices: stored on your own device so we remember them.
- Advertising data: only if we show advertising and only if you agree. See the cookie policy.
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and deliver the services you ask for (steps before or under a contract).
- To keep the website secure and working (our legitimate interest).
- To send you updates, such as Academy news, only where you asked for them (consent). You can stop these at any time.
- To meet our legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We use trusted service providers to run this website and our email, including our website host (Vercel) and, where set up, an email delivery service for the contact form. They process data only on our instructions. Some of these providers are based outside Jamaica, in which case we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, as the Act requires.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for up to two years, or longer if you become a client, in line with our legal and accounting obligations. Server logs are kept for a short period for security.
How we protect it
This website is served only over encrypted connections, uses strict security settings, and loads no tracking code unless you agree. Access to enquiries is limited to the people who need it.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to stop using it or to delete it, and withdraw consent at any time. To do so, email ghsadmin@ghsdatasecurity.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Information Commissioner of Jamaica.
How to ask us to delete your data
Email ghsadmin@ghsdatasecurity.com with the subject "Data deletion request" and tell us the name and email address you used. We will confirm who you are, delete your data (unless the law requires us to keep it, in which case we will tell you why), and reply within 30 days. There is no charge.
Emails from us
We only send updates, such as Academy news, to people who ask for them. Every update email includes a simple way to unsubscribe, and you can also just reply "unsubscribe".
Children
This website and our services are for organisations and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
Changes
We will update this policy when our practices change and show the date at the top.
